Its ´Oscars´ time again! We are already well into the New Year and that means here at Export & Freight, we are gearing up for the annual Transport & Logistics Awards, and this year we are pulling out all the stops to make it a night to remember!

This year we are also welcoming on board several new sponsors, the latest being one of the country´s leading trailer manufacturers Gray & Adams. In partnership with TSS and Carrier Transicold, specialists in transport refrigeration, it is appropriately sponsoring the “Chilled Operator of the Year” category.

Since being established in 1957 in Fraserburgh in Scotland, Gray & Adams has grown substantially and now operates four well established production facilities across the UK and Ireland, including that at Houstons Corner in Newtownabbey in County Antrim.

While last year´s champagne lunch, which replaced the traditional ´breakfast´ ceremony at the Ramada Hotel in Belfast, proved to be the perfect setting for some serious networking before and after the main event itself, the evening event planned for this year will take the Awards to the next level.

Despite being in the throes of one of the worst recessions ever experienced, the 2009 Awards was bigger, better and bolder than all of the previous seven annual events - a true testament to how the industry regards the occasion.

Now widely regarded as the premier event in the Irish transport calendar, early indications are that the 2010 Awards will be another record breaker, and we are delighted to report that all the main sponsors are back to support the local industry; without them, the occasion simply wouldn´t happen - and we really do appreciate their participation.

Of course, that said, without YOU, there would also be no awards. Last year´s event attracted record breaking entries, so now´s the time to start putting together your entries for 2010 to show us - and the judges - that you are the very best there is in our industry.

There are16 categories from which to choose, ranging from Haulier of the Year and Transport Manager of the Year to Irish Sea Shipping Line of the Year and Port of the Year.
Up for grabs is not just a stunning cut glass trophy, but all the prestige that goes with being named the best in your particular field of activity. What better way is there to promote your business in these challenging times!
